The presidential committee investigating the discovery of $43.4m by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a residential apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, Thursday grilled the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.

The committee was set up by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday after he suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ayo Oke.

It is also investigating corruption allegations against Lawal, in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East.

The committee, headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has the Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami and National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno, as members.

Also quizzed were the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Malam Lawal Daura.

The interogation held at the Vice President’s Wing of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Magu after his appearance, went to the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.

The officials refused to take questions from State House correspondents.

Meanwhile, the governor of Adamawa State, Jubrila Bindow, also met with Osinbajo at the State House in Abuja.
